This Privacy Policy explains how Pace ("Pace", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and application (the "Service"). By using Pace, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

2. Information We Collect

• Account information: name, email address, and password (managed securely by our authentication provider).
• Financial information you enter: account balances, income sources, recurring expenses, protected savings, and purchases you choose to analyze. This data is used solely to calculate your safe-to-spend amount.
• Bank statement imports: if you use the statement import feature, the file you upload is processed in memory to detect transactions and is not permanently stored. Only the transactions you confirm are saved to your account.
• Billing information: subscription status, trial and renewal dates. Payment card details are collected and stored directly by Stripe, our payment processor — Pace never sees or stores your full card number.
• Usage and preference data: your selected language (English or French) and basic technical data needed to operate the Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the Service, including your safe-to-spend calculations;
• Process subscription payments and manage your billing status;
• Communicate with you about your account or the Service;
• Maintain the security and integrity of the Service.

Pace does not sell your personal or financial information to third parties, and does not use your data to provide financial advice — all figures shown are estimates based on the information you enter.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored with Supabase, our database provider, using row-level security so that only you can access your own records. Access to your data from our servers is limited to what is required to operate the Service (for example, processing billing events).

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on the following subprocessors to operate Pace:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
• Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing.

These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their function and are bound by their own privacy and security obligations.

6. Cookies

Pace uses a small number of essential cookies: one to keep you signed in, and one to remember your selected language. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account and financial data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account from Settings, all associated data is permanently removed. This action cannot be undone.

8. Your Rights

You may access, update, or delete your personal information at any time from the Settings page. You may also contact us directly to request a copy of your data or its deletion.

9. Children's Privacy

Pace is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
