Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Pace ("Pace", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Pace analyzes financial information you provide — income, bills, savings, and spending — to estimate how much you can safely spend before your next paycheck.

Pace provides estimates based on the information you enter. Pace does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and is not a substitute for professional guidance.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Subscription and Billing

  • Pace is offered as a paid subscription at $14.99 USD per year, billed through Stripe.
  • New subscriptions include a 3-day free trial. A valid payment card is required to start the trial.
  • Your subscription automatically renews annually at the then-current price unless canceled before the renewal date.
  • You may cancel at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal, accessible from Settings. Canceling stops future renewals; it does not refund the current billing period.
  • If your trial or subscription is not active (for example: canceled, expired, or payment failed), access to the Service may be restricted until you resubscribe.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
  • Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service;
  • Reverse-engineer or misuse the Service's underlying software.

6. Your Data

You retain ownership of the financial information you enter into Pace. Our use of your data is described in our Privacy Policy. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings.

7. Intellectual Property

The Pace name, logo, and software are the property of Pace and its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that calculations will be error-free or that the Service will be uninterrupted.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pace shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including financial losses, arising from your use of the Service or reliance on the estimates it provides.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction — e.g., Province of Quebec, Canada], without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
